What Hank thinks.

Bear and Hank went on a trip.  Hank came back and Bear’s mind will be back eventually.

If you don’t get the reference, you can check out what we’re riffing from here and here.

Have you ever met “that guy” who is just oblivious enough to know that he probably missed something, only by the time he figures it out, 3 days have passed?  No?  Well, now you have and his name is Hank.

A close relative wanted a new PC built from parts.  He wants to do a lot of gaming, so I set him up with an SSD, 6 Gigs of RAM, a quad core, an Nvidia 470, and a terabyte drive.  I’ll put it all together next week.  If I’m nice, I’ll even let him take it home.  I think I’m jealous.  Perhaps I’ll build a new PC for myself a few months from now.

This week also marks the week that we finished the illustrious book project.  That’s right!  The 140 page book project we’ve been working on for something around a year now has finally been completed.  We’re very, very excited to have the book project done.  I’m not sure what we’ll do now, but I hope it’ll be fun and make use of our strange collection of talents.

I spent most of the weekend playing Mass Effect 2.  I have all of the crew members but one.  The Salarian sings.  ;__;  Jack seems like a problem child and I wish she weren’t living in my basement.   On the plus side, my assistant is feeding my fish.  I still have not gone through the “locked” relay, so please continue to not spoil anything for me.  The last planet I was checking out featured a chlorine atmosphere and I was doing pretty well until the map glitched and my character went up into the air.  She wouldn’t hop back down and there wasn’t anything I could do but reload.  Oh well.  That did make me stop and realize that it was a little past time to update the comic.  ;)

There’s no voting incentive this week.  Have a great week, folks!

  1. …now where do you suppose he got that eyeball from?

  2. Fluffeh says:

    Work on book two!

Also, I feel so bad for Hank and “Spots”.

    Especially the latter D:

  3. Trimutius says:

    “Who are you?”
    It’s probably embarassing… Or maybe it’s dull…

Where did Bear get that fancy staff? I want one too… (I do have staff of Sheogorath ingame though)

  4. D.Durand says:

Oh the damages. Do peoples ever respect property in comics ? At least in the “i invite myself then i don’t break the rule” style ?

  5. Draco Blair says:

    This one simply roxx :O

The eyeball… well, there are a lot of evil..mudcrab..daedra… things I guess. Sheogorath has weird stewards

And the last two panels – Treiss worked SO hard for nothing! How could you?! How could you?! ;D Hope it wears off soon enough or he’ll get hell of a whooping from Momma’s shot-bat!

  6. Yeah, the hopping-up-in-the-air bug is really annoying. It hits a lot of people. The only way to get around it is “save early, save often”.

Make sure you get all the “can you do me a favor” missions for your crew done as early as possible. It helps a lot later on.

That phrase doesn’t sound so bad when it’s not attached to a mayor’s electoral campaign.

  7. The Doctor says:

Good for Hank! I’ve been asking the same thing since Treiss lost her spots! :-D

  8. She looks like a whole different person! XD

  9. Laura says:

Admittedly, Treiss with Belle’s hairdo is a little jarring. However, I think Hank is more confused by the lack of corsetry.

  10. apstorm says:

How come you got this person a ‘bark bigger than bite’ card, anyway? I’d personally have gone for a 5850/70 or such. Ribbing of nVidia aside, doesn’t sound bad (er… let’s ignore the fan noise, unless they somehow fixed that in drivers). To be honest, I’m still using a 4870 1G, and I still feel like I haven’t really pushed it on even Crysis (I play MechWarrior: Living Legends, mostly, with it). Then again, Crysis is starting to actually get old *gasp*.

    • I had picked out a 460. He wanted a 470 and he was paying, so… :)

      • airddragon says:

Did you show them the reviews of the 460 1GB? The new review of it in SLI at Tomshardware is amazing (easily trounced a single 480 in SLI, 190% scaling is EPIC and its $460). Mo money does not always mean better performance. I was holding out for a revision of the 470 personally but the 460 is REALLY tempting.

I do have to say also I’ve been tempted by the 5850/5870/5970…… but EVGA does not make ATI so I will prolly not be buying ATI unless an unmissable sale comes up.

        • apstorm says:

For a second, I was thinking, “Wait, I thought they did start to make ATI?” .. but then I realized that was XFX (sadly, those nVidia partners do all run together for me). Personally, I have a preference for Asus or MSI. Never been too keen on Sapphire, though, who seem to generally be treated as the ‘big name’ among the ATI partners. Had an HIS X1950 that started burning out on me after about a year or so. Overall, I’ve gotten 3-4 Asus cards – not all in computers that I myself use, mind – and all have run splendidly with ATI’s official drivers (I haven’t touched Asus’ software since ATI finally introduced a fan controller in Catalyst)… so I’d say that warrants I continue to rely on them…

Used to have Diamond cards back during the Rage card eras, I think. Though I’m sure one of the Diamonds I had was a 3DFX, in ages past.

  11. Fox says:

What was Bear poking with a stick?

Funny, Hank does not know that is Triss. XD

  12. Charlie says:

Uh huh, the mushrooms eh? ^>^

  13. AflacMan13 says:

I really like this comic. It is very funny and entertaining. I hope you do not ever find the end to your story. That would be disappointing.

If you want a really good game to play, try EVE-Online. Ranked the best online PC game of 2009. If you do play it be sure to look for me in Gallente Federation space. I am SGT Funyoun. Gimme a holler on the Minerals and Mining Chat Channel.

    • apstorm says:

Something to keep in mind is that EVE is not for everyone… though not everyone in EVE bothers with the main focus of CCP’s improvements, either, which is Alliance Warfare and Empire building.

  14. Jujuducky says:

soooo when can we purchase the new book?

    • Good question really. I’m not sure when it’ll be published since this is work we did for a client. I’ll post when it comes out though. :)

  15. Hans says:

Nice Oblivion reference. I recognized the staff right off. :)

I kept hoping once I became Sheogorath, the Khajiit who kept saying that to me would recognize my divinity and actually tell me something useful. Unfortunately, she just kept insisting I couldn’t see her.

  16. Tala says:

OMG You have NO idea how much I love the Oblivion references in this comic. That is one of the main reasons why I love this particular one. I have literally spent MONTHS in shivering isles, its like my home away from home.

  17. Random says:

I don’t know what’s scarier, Bear, or that staff he’s holding. Hank proves that it has been far too long since Tress has lost her spots, although I do agree that it may be from the lack of 19th century clothing.

  18. makZ says:

“Cat’s out of the bag! Why do people put cats in bags? Cats hate bags.” More like dog’s. :P

  19. FaerieKnight says:

Don’t know about cats liking bags, but I know a cat that climbs into empty Mountain dew cases.

  20. Grimgrin says:

If that’s really the staff of Sheogorath, someone had REALLY better get it away from him quick.

Somehow entrusting Bear with the power of the Daedra lord of madness seems like a bad thing.

  21. Caroline says:

    BEAR NO!!!

Poor Triess. Hank no longer recognizes her – which I assume means as soon as Mama’s done beating the ever-loving snot out of Papa, there will be more teasing about her “Nazi dog boyfriend.”

Yeah, this is going to be something I won’t easily forget about Catena. XD

  22. chaos fox says:

    whens da update kitty

  23. Kensan_Oni says:

I don’t blame Hank. She’s got spots, she changed her hair, and she’s not wearing Ren Garb. I wouldn’t have recognized her either.

    • Trimutius says:

Is there so many Snow Leopards? I wouldn’t believe if he could’ve mistaken her for mommy or daddy…

  24. Timber Wolf says:

    @last pannel, Re: Treiss’s look.

TT.=.TT So sad. Suddenly she’s unknown. REALLY glad her spots returned tho.

  25. Draco Blair says:

The saddest thing here are the last two panels: The ‘reunion’, suspense and hope for a compliment turning into a …. well.. Oblivious look at best.

Will bear be able to freeze time now? ;> ;> Maybe a new means to conquer the world minimised to stopping the prey from running away (and becoming as hard as a rock in the process?)

  26. Jessie says:

What happened to the spider? :(

  27. Wisp says:

No. Go away. I’m not here

  28. drakus says:

what nnoooo lizzzardzz good a nuf for you comic

  29. jeremy says:

ha he F’d up on shrooms….anyways in my opinion treiss look good as hell without the spots and that new hair doo but still the current changes are perfect even tho her tail resembles a squirrel tail from my point of view n my last comment i think treiss and hank might get hooked up later in the story

  30. geri says:

Top right hand corner…I can imagine that, that’s how they first met…lol

  31. Jewyl says:

    Methinks someone stole Belle’s hairstyle..
