Catena Comics

Book one of the new series is done.

Whew.  Anytime a comic has a reboot it runs the risk of having everything topple over and the fans revolting.  I’m glad that you guys stuck with us.  We got a lot of positive feedback about the new direction and we’re going to keep the new setup.  When I finish a few more games and watch a lot more anime I’ll probably do another anime/game parody as a side-comic.  That, however, will need to wait.

We’ll have to stop for a little break.  The reasons are all explained in the video, but the short of it is that it’s convention season and a bunch of art and coloring jobs came in.  This kind of happens every year and this year isn’t an exception.

We’re going to try and fill in the interim with videos and sketches this time – and we’re going to crank up a Kickstarter to see about having printed books made.  We’ll have a video and information about the Kickstarter up in the next two weeks.  If you have comments about what you want to see in a Kickstarter (specifically about how many stories you want in a book) us please let us know on the Facebook page or via email.

It’s quiet.  There’s food.  She survived.

I wrote this comic arc while I was moving across the country.  I know how it is to be in a new place with fresh people who seem like old friends, but with different faces.  It’s a new start and a scary one, but we hope for the best, steel for the changes, and put our most agreeable faces on.  Then we pray it works out.   

There’s one more page to this story arc and we’re done with the first book.  I hope you’ve enjoyed it.  Tracy is going to work on getting colors finished up for all the pages and I will work on setting up a Kickstarter.  If enough people want more Catena, want printed copies of this book (or past comics), and so on, the Kickstarter can make that happen.  I’ll have lots more to say about that as we get closer to putting it all together.

Perhaps she has hunger anger.  I call that “hanger”.

The videos I took of us eating “interesting” MREs took a *lot* longer to upload than I thought.  They’re still actually uploading as I type this and well, it’s bed time.  Next time I’ll get that sort of thing started earlier.  Maybe we’ll make this a Wed. deal or something.   I’ll post on the Catena Facebook if it goes that way.

In the mean time we have our normally scheduled comic.   Neat!

Mr. Cuddles is with us in form and spirit.

He doesn’t want to go “swimming”.  I like that all of his eyes are frowning at once.

I wonder if the guys will make it down in time for free eats.  Bear seems like the handy type, so we’ll see.

Thanks to everyone who “liked” our Facebook page.  I announce new comics there and explain outages.   I know that a lot of people don’t like FB, though.  I’ll keep that in mind in the year going forward and see if there is a popular alternative that might work in addition to it.  Shoot me some e-mail if you know of something.

I think I sorted out all the database problems we were having last week.  The site should be a lot smoother and faster now – I hope.
